second national integration in Chinese history．This was a times that War broke OUt

frequently and regime changed constantly．However,it was very flee and liberating 011

spirit．Furthermore，it was rich in wisdom and fervency most on art．

This thesis just study the home design as well as it embodies the culture concepts

under such peculiar background．Living space is a type of architectural space，which is

most closely associated with people's life．ne home design of every period always be

penetrated and influiced by the construction activities，social life，science and technology,

cultural attitudes and social thought．Therefore，home design is a comprehensive subject

and it containS a wealth of content．As a result，it needs a multi-channd methodology for

the research．hl the views of cultural construction，furnishings，culture，aesthetic concepts，

home design is studied deeply in this thesis．It could provide a large space by studying the

architecture of the development，style and decoration．Then various design factors of

interior will be studied．Ultimately,the characteristics of home design and cultural values

of this period could be summarized．

Chapter I is introduction，mainly on issues of the background and object of research，

content,significance，methods and sllucture of the framework．Chapter 11 introduces the

social backgrounds，economic development and cultural exchange situation of Wei，Jin，

South-and-North Dynasties period．ChapterⅢgenerally describes the architectural style,

ornamentation，and the spatial form of cultural identity of this period．Chapter IV chiefly

analyzes the display category,including accessories and furniture category in detail．

Chapter Vstudies the cultural ideas which reflected to home design．
