There are a number of different things that need to be taken into consideration whenever you are providing school desks for your students. One of the main things is going to be the size of the desk, which needs to be kept in proportion to the age and general size of the student. A number of other things need to be considered, however, such as the style of desk and how they are going to be able to access their stored materials.
Although there are a number of different styles of school desks, the two basic designs are either going to be an open end, allowing the student to store his material underneath the top conveniently or it could be a lift top, which provides a little bit more security but also may be a little bit less convenient, as far as the student is concerned. Either of these styles of school desks can work well, but it will be up to you as to how much you feel that your students are going to need to be able to access their storage.
Other type of classroom desks may not provide any storage at all. These are especially important whenever you tend to have transient students that are switching classrooms several times through the day. While you would want to provide them with a comfortable area in which to work on the desktop, you would not necessarily want to have storage available where they could stow items and forget them easily. Provided you give them a convenient place to work, however, these simplified school desks should be adequate.
