Cleaning Airport Chairs

Airport chairs have many different people touch them in a day. The management of the airline has to provide a cleaning crew to keep the airport chairs clean. This cleaning is usually done during the wee hours of the morning so that there will be fewer people in the airport chairs when the janitorial staff needs to wipe them down.
If airport chairs are not wiped down with a disinfectant cleaning solution periodically, then germs will be on the surface of the chair when the next passenger has a seat. The movie "Contagion" demonstrated just how quickly an epidemic could be created by one person who has an illness touching something as simple as a telephone or chair. Thousands of people could be exposed by the existence of a virus on the arm of airport chairs.
Many people allow their children to put their feet in the seats of these seating systems. The feet of the children allow dirt to be deposited on the seat so that the next person who sits in the chair will have the dirt transferred to their clothing. This can cause stains on clothing and can be detrimental to a business man or woman who does not have a change of clothing with them.
People eating and drinking in the waiting area will eventually spill some of the food or drink on the seats. This can leave sticky surfaces that are capable of staining the clothing of the next passenger to sit there. All of these circumstances make the need for the cleaning of the chairs more important than most people realize.
A janitorial staff will come into the area and they will spray a disinfectant on the surface of the chairs and then wipe these surfaces down. The disinfectant will clean the dirt and spilled food from the surface and they will also kill any germs and bacteria that you cannot see on them.
These seats are usually made of materials that are easy to wipe down. This cleaning is why you do not see many chairs covered in fabric in the waiting rooms of airports and large businesses. Fabric covered chairs are much more difficult to clean and they have to be replaced sooner than the chairs crafted from hard materials.
You will notice that grey seating systems are frequently seen in these waiting areas. The cleaning of the chairs helps determine the colors that the management chooses. Black seats should be less likely to show stains, but the darker seats hide the stains from spills so well that the janitorial staff may miss them and people could ruin their clothing because of the oversight. White chairs show stains so well that often the stain discolors the seat and leaves it with the appearance of dirt when it has been cleaned. Grey is a color that shows the presence of dirt without easily being stained to the point that it always looks dirty.
The ease of cleaning items is what helps determine most of the selections businesses make.
Airport chairs must be regularly cleaned with harsh chemicals to stop the spread of disease. The airport chairs are generally grey in color because the grey color does not stain as quickly.
