uk furniture retailer dwell goes into administration

One of the biggest British furniture retailer, Dwell (http://www.dwell.co.uk), has gone into administration in 20 June, 2013. Dwell had tried to sell itself several month ago, but it failed. Now around 300 staff have been told to stay at home, while customers with orders have been informed to contact their bank if they paid by card.

Dwell has 23 stores all over UK: Lakeside Retail Park in Essex, Tottenham Court Road in London, Manchester’s Trafford Centre, Glasgow, Balham, Bimingham’s Fort Dunlop and Bullring shopping centres, Bluewater in Kent, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Guildford, Kingston, Leeds, Manchester, Milton Keynes town center and Retail Park, Nottingham, Reading, Richmond, Solihull and Westfield shopping centers in west and east London. It also has a warehouse and distribution center in Milton Keneys. Most of Dwell products is contemporary furniture and hotel furniture, they are really popular in UK, so it is a big chance that some groups may be interested in Dwell’s business.
All trades has been ceased immediately ahead of administrators being appointed. If you used a credit card buying furniture from Dwell, you should get your money back thanks to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. But those who paid by debit card do not have the same protection. You can use the chargeback scheme to reclaim money. Chargeback is not enshrined in law but instead is part of what’s known as Scheme Rules. This means you can ask your bank to try and claw back the money you paid on debit card if you haven’t received your goods.
Now the website of Dwell has taken down too, which is started from 28 September, 1999. Hope to see this beautiful furniture sites with fantastic modern home furniture images again. Maybe Senyi furniture will have business again with Dwell in a short time. Let us waiting for good news from Dwell furniture online store.
