Have you ever found yourself at the airport with a lot of time to spare? That recently happened to me when I was flying out of the airport on the same day as my mother and the airport was two hours away from my parents home. I was flying to England to meet my wife and my mother was flying to my home in Florida to take care of it while I extended my vacation. Her flight left at 8am and my flight did not leave until 3 pm. I was wondering what I was going to do while I waited, especially since I was stuck at an airport where there was no wireless internet connection. Here is how I kept myself busy while I was there.

The first thing that I did was to pace the halls. I walked up and down the c concource for about an hour before I stumbled onto something interesting. Outside the Admirals Club I found that I could get a wireless signal so I planted myself down and did a couple hours of work. This helped the time go rather quickly and I was happy that I could spend the time being online instead of trying to sleep sitting up in an uncomfortable airport chair. Another thing that I did was to do some good old fashion people watching. This is something that is really interesting at an airport because you have hundreds of people coming in from all over the world and there are so many different types of people to look at. That kept me interested for about an hour.

So if you find yourself stuck in an airport for a long period of time do some walking and see what kind of opportunities present themselves. You may just be surprised at what you can find to get yourself into when you are stuck at such a melting pot, and what you can see, so enjoy your time and make the best of it.

The Importance of Comfort in an Airport Chair

Not many people consider the importance there is to having a comfortable airport chair for flyers. The more comfortable airport chair can help to keep the peace in the waiting room and they can even help the nervous fliers to relax before departure. Managers go to great lengths to find seats that are proportioned large enough that most people can sit in them. They want these seats to be padded and to be covered in a material that is easy to keep clean so the clothing of the people that sit on them does not become soiled. They try to get as many seats into the area they have without causing the area to feel cramped or overcrowded.

You have seen these flowers in bloom and you know what they are, but can you name them right now? Can you see the color of the floor tile inside the post office?

All of these things are things we see so often that we actually stop seeing them. We know they are there and we know what they are, so our mind does not register them every time we pass them. If we had to we can make our minds focus on the items and give them names and descriptions, but we will literally have to concentrate to perform this action.

There is a lot of danger involved in this type of familiarity. When you are driving home do you notice every house and sign along your way? If you travel the exact same path each time you leave and return then it is likely that your mind does not really see everything that is should see. Most accidents happen within a twenty mile radius from our homes because of this absent minded familiarity. We let down our guards and are less cautious when driving this route.

It has been suggested by experts that you do not travel the same route home every day. Change things up so you can keep your mind fresh and focus on everything around you. When you walk into the airport you are now likely to look at the seating and the way it is arranged. You will develop a habit of actually looking at the items surrounding you instead of taking them for granted.
